The red carpet has been rolled out across Paris' Pont Alexandre III bridge for this tribute to the house of Dior. The catwalk spectacle celebrates decadent colour and a history of feminine elegance. The featured dress is one designed by John Galliano during his time at the helm of Dior. He designed the luxuriant and exotic Kitu dress featured, in 1997 for the spring-summer haute couture collection. inspired by African Masai tribal beading, it was then - and still remains - an elaborate showstopper. under a dark, ominous sky looming in the distance, the show continues as beams of sunlight crack through the heavy clouds.
When walking across this bridge once during a trip to Paris, I imagined a red carpet traversing its expanse, and thought how wonderful it would be to hold a haute couture show on this iconic bridge, as models strut from Right to Left bank.
